My Story…
Cape Cod is often associated with carefree summer days, beautiful beaches, and bustling seaside towns filled with vacationers. Beneath that postcard-perfect image, however, many veterans who call the Cape home face daily challenges, including housing insecurity, financial hardship, food insecurity, mental health struggles, and the lasting effects of military service. The contrast serves as a reminder that even in places known for their beauty and prosperity, there are neighbors whose needs can be easy to overlook.
For more than four decades, the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center has worked to bridge that gap. Its mission is to provide comprehensive, life-sustaining services for veterans and their families, empowering them to achieve lasting reintegration into the families and communities for which they have sacrificed. Through housing assistance, counseling, case management, food support, transportation, and outreach, the organization ensures that those who served are not left to face these challenges alone.
I have the privilege of supporting this remarkable organization and witnessing the difference it makes in the lives of our veterans every day. If you are able, I kindly ask you to consider making a donation. Your generosity, no matter the amount, helps provide essential services and hope to those who have given so much in service to our country. Thank you for helping honor our veterans in a meaningful way.
Description
Running the iconic seven miles of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race is an incredible way to honor those who have served, and your gift will help the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center provide life‑sustaining support to local veterans right here at home.
This year, our team is taking on the 7‑mile ASICS Falmouth Road Race along the Cape Cod coastline to raise critical funds for the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC), the preeminent resource and referral hub for veterans and their families across Cape Cod and the Islands. Since 1983, CIVOC has delivered comprehensive, life‑sustaining services at no cost, ensuring that no veteran is left behind.
Every dollar you give stays local and strengthens CIVOC’s four pillars of care: safe and stable housing, access to nutritious food through veterans’ food pantries, flexible mental health support, and community outreach and transportation that connect veterans with the care and benefits they’ve earned. Your donation will help keep a roof over a veteran’s head, put groceries on the table, provide counseling in a trusted environment, and get someone to a critical medical appointment or support program.
Please consider supporting our runners with a tax‑deductible gift of any size; together, we can turn every mile into tangible hope, stability, and dignity for those who served our country and now call the Cape and Islands home.
