My Story…
Friends and Family,
Every summer, I find myself talking about the Falmouth Road Race—this seven-mile run—as if I’m training for the Boston marathon. In many ways, it feels just as meaningful. And anyone who’s run it knows the final .2 miles up the hill can be heartbreaking. It’s gotten me three times already and I keep coming back.
I’m running again this year to support the YMCA Cape Cod Achievers Program, and I’d be grateful for your support
The program helps first-generation college students prepare for life after high school through mentorship, college visits, career exploration, and leadership development.
When my family immigrated from Jamaica, Cape Cod became home. I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by teachers, coaches, neighbors, and mentors like Frank Green, John Curtis, and many others who believed in me, pushed me, and helped shape my path.
The Achievers Program continues that same work today—opening doors and helping young people see what’s possible before they can imagine it.
As I watch my own son grow, I’m reminded how important it is for every young person to have adults who believe in them and help them expand their view on what is possible.
Please help me to support the Y.
With gratitude,
Milton
