My experience with Alzheimer's started with my beautiful grandmother Rosalie who passed away in 2024 at the age of 80 years old.
My grandmother was always one of my biggest supporters who loved going on trips cross country with my grandfather, spending time on Cape Cod, gathering with family and friends during holidays, would never turn down watching a Hallmark movie with me, and always made sure her family was together and loved. When she began her battle with Alzheimers, I saw the struggle she and my grandfather went through at home and later in the nursing home. I always wanted to do more to help them. I think this would be my way to help those who are experiencing what my grandmother went through.
I will be a senior at Merrimack College this upcoming September. Last year, with the help of friends and classmates, I was able start a club that connects college students with local seniors in North Andover. Many older adults who our club connects with also deal with the battle of Alzheimer's. I am proud to also be running for them.
Help me honor my grandmother and support individuals and families affected by this devastating disease. I thank you in advance for supporting me to END ALZHEIMER'S.
