I'm running the 54rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
Hi! My name is Taralynn and I’m so honored to be running the Falmouth Road Race as a member of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation team. This race represents so much more than a finish line. It represents hope, strength, resilience, and standing alongside every family impacted by cancer.
Cancer has touched my life in deeply personal ways. My nana fought Non- Hodgkin lymphoma for ten years with incredible courage and strength. She was such a bright light and a true fighter.
More recently, my best friend Kara battled colorectal cancer, and she has become one of my greatest inspirations. She is an incredible friend, wife, and devoted mother of two fantastic children. She was diagnosed when her youngest was just five months old. Throughout her treatment, Kara showed incredible strength, positivity, and determination… it has been unbelievable to witness. Today, I am so grateful to say that Kara is NED (No Evidence of Disease), and her strength throughout her journey continues to inspire me and everyone around her.
Kara inspired me and others by pushing herself to hit 10,000+ steps a day, even during some of her hardest moments. Her determination inspired me to begin my own running journey.
What makes this journey even more meaningful is that now we are running together. Kara continues to inspire me every day to push through challenges, keep moving forward and no looking back, and believe that we are capable of more than we think even when life throws you curveball after curveball.
I’m running this race to honor my nana, celebrate Kara’s incredible strength and resilience , and support every cancer patient and family facing their own journey. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s mission to provide assistance to cancer patients and their families is a cause I am incredibly proud to be a part of.
My goal is to raise $1,500, and every donation will help make a meaningful difference for families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Thank you for supporting me, cheering me on, and helping me make every mile count.
Together, we can bring hope, strength, and support to those who need it most.
Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
