My Story…
Running for something bigger than the finish line.
Honored to join Mike Pitt and the entire Team Frate Train this weekend.
I've found ways to contribute in the past. The Ice Bucket Challenge, charging the cold waves of Good Harbor in early January, and educating my kids about ALS in between innings at Fenway when they hosted BC Games in an effort to strike out ALS.
I was happy to show up for Pete and the team, fighting for a cause I believed in, admiring the work from a comfortable distance. I believed I knew.
I didn't.
There's a big difference between knowing and understanding. And it can hurt to get to the latter.
This year, it came home. My dad was diagnosed with ALS.
So Sunday is for everyone who still just knows, so maybe, someday, fewer people have to understand.
