I'm running the 54rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
Hi everyone!
On August 16, I'll be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. My goal is to raise $1,500 to help provide financial assistance and support to New England families facing a cancer diagnosis, easing some of the everyday burdens that come with treatment so they can focus on what matters most.
This cause is deeply personal to me. Cancer has touched my family in more ways than I ever imagined. My dad battled pancreatic cancer for two years before passing away in May 2024. Throughout his fight at Massachusetts General Hospital, our family was incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by an exceptional medical team, including Dr. David Ryan and Dr. Motaz Qadan, and to have an amazing support system. I know that not every family has access to the same resources and support that we did.
Cancer has also impacted some of the people I love most. My grandfather lost his battle with melanoma, and one of my closest family friends, Nora, has been courageously battling osteosarcoma. Watching each of them navigate this disease has shown me just how important it is for families to have support during such difficult times.
I haven't shared much of my family's journey publicly before, but when I was given the opportunity to run and fundraise for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. My dad wanted nothing more than to help find a cure for cancer while supporting families going through it. Because the Joe Andruzzi Foundation serves families throughout New England, this mission felt especially meaningful.

Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
