My Story…
After finishing my first Falmouth Road Race last year, I said I didn’t plan to do it again (as I will never consider myself to be a runner!). This year, as the date of the race approached, I found that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. As someone with such a complex pulmonary history, I never take a single breath for granted. The fact that I can even run at all given what my (1.5) lungs have been through is a testament to the amazing research, advocacy, and education provided by organizations such as the American Lung Association. When I found out that they were willing to add a relatively last minute slot for me on their team, I decided to sign up after all. Despite some reluctance to run 7 miles in the August heat, I recognize what a gift it is to be able to do so. And for that reason, I was motivated to run for the American Lung Association. Your donation, big or small, will help fund lung research, education, and advocacy for people like me and millions of others living with lung disease. Any amount helps.
