Our story…
Jack Trottier Foundation’s mission is to positively impact individuals living with a traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) to create independence, access new and innovative opportunities, and provide resources that promote a better quality of life. JTF approaches this mission in a unique, innovative way. JTF offers three interrelated programs: Quality of Life Grants (QOL), Advanced Recreation Therapy (ART), and Education. We know firsthand that to achieve independent, fulfilling and full lives, individuals with SCI first need support to regain access to their homes, transportation, communication and daily lives. Too often the work stops there, but we believe it must go much farther. Individuals with SCI must have opportunities to build relationships, build self-confidence, and develop passions and physical pursuits. Education is vital for people who have recently experienced spinal cord injuries and we believe there is a need for education to prevent potential spinal cord injuries as well. Approaching our work by enhancing quality of life, offering recreational therapy, and delivering research-based education is a truly holistic approach to recovery after a traumatic SCI.
