Due to forecasted inclement freezing weather, the Southside Stroll has been canceled.
A message from St. Thomas Early Learning Center's Head of School:
"Dear Participants,
I have been told that statistically you have better odds of winning the lotto than predicting weather in Texas. Yet, the evidence is accumulating that the weather this weekend will be best for sitting in front of a warm fireplace rather. Therefore, Saturday’s Southside Stroll, both the 5K and 1 mile events, will be canceled. The comfort and safety of our participants and volunteers is our top priority.
Historical highlights will still be placed along the route beginning Friday, January 23 by noon and will remain up as weather permits—hopefully through Sunday, February 1. We invite you to join us on Friday, January 23, from 2:30 to 6:30 PM in the Ministry Center of St. Thomas Episcopal Church to pick up your hand-made guinea ornament and cozy red scarf. We will be serving Blue Baker cookies, along with hot chocolate and coffee. T-shirts, for those who ordered them, will also be available for pickup. A PDF of both the 5K and 1-mile routes can be found below and will also be available on Friday.
After you have been cooped up all weekend, please take the time to walk or run the course! Post a photo along the way and tag us or email one to office@stthomaselc.org for us to share on social media.
The ceramic guineas created by each class are available via auction. Here is a link. They are adorable keepsakes for those of us who live in the neighborhood or have students at STELC this year. Bidding closes Sunday, February 1 at 5PM.
Please know how important your registration fee is in providing financial assistance to young families in the Brazos Valley. We are deeply grateful for your support. Knowing many of you registered primarily to support STELC, we are not automatically issuing refunds. However, if you wish to request a refund, please contact the School Office at office@stthomaselc.org also by February 1. Please also email us if you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes.

Join us for the Southside Stroll!! Beginning on the grounds of St. Thomas, the racecourse is flat and fast. The route follows paved roads as they wind through the historic Southside neighborhood of College Station.
All participants will receive a Southside Stroll child-created participation medal, a bib, and post-event goodies, including world-famous Blue Baker cookies! T-shirts are sold separately. Packet pickup will be the morning of the race at St. Thomas Early Learning Center, starting at 6:00AM.
The 5K will begin at 8:00AM, while the 1 Mile Stroll will start at 8:15AM.
If registering 3 or more people within the same transaction for the 1 Mile Stroll, an automatic family discount will be applied at checkout.
This festive and fun family event will not be timed.
If you would like to purchase a shirt or make a donation, that can be done on this site as well.
All proceeds from the race directly support scholarships and programming for students and families of St. Thomas Early Learning Center.
The Southside Stroll is a rain or shine event.
We do not offer refunds or deferrals for the Southside Stroll.

Join us Saturday, January 24, 2026 for a fast and flat 5K or for a family-friendly 1 Mile Stroll through the College Station Southside historic district. All proceeds from the race directly support scholarships and programming for students and families of St. Thomas Early Learning Center.

Any participant in the 1 mile stroll who is 5 or younger (as of Sept 1, 2025) will receive free admittance (discount applied automatically at checkout). If registering 3 or more people within the same transaction for the 1 Mile Stroll, an automatic family discount will be applied at checkout.
