EVERY TEAM requires a TEAM LEADER.
- 10 Week Program begins March 23 and ends May 31, 2026.
- 6 Week Program begins April 20 and ends May 31, 2026.
You can join as a school or a family*
Final Fun Run Day
- If you are participating in the Fun Run in Diefenbaker Park on Sunday May 31 you will need to arrive by 10 AM.
- If you are running the virtual event, your Team Leader will choose your race day.
Included in your 2026 registration:
- A finisher's medal.
- A free 10-week or 6-week easy-to-follow training program from Craven SPORT Services.
- A t-shirt with an area to personalize your built-in race bib.

*NEW: Please note that ALL Team leaders and Family team captain MUST arrange someone to pick up their t-shirts before the final race day. Package pick-up is mandatory. No shipping options available.
Step 1: Create a Team - Teachers, Team Leaders & Mara-Fun Family of 4
*Team Leaders: REGISTER yourself as a Team Leader and create your team name. Click the REGISTER button to the right. Please then share your team name with your team's youth/students/parents so that they can register and join the team as well. To come back and see who has currently registered on your team, click VIEW TEAMS on the left side.
*Parents: If your child's school is not able to participate, you may create your own team, with the understanding that YOU are the TEAM LEADER. Please register yourself as a Team Leader first...or register through the new Mara-Family-Fun Team if you are a family of 4 or more (Not sure how to sign up? Call and talk to Jeff at 306-716-0869
*If you are new to the Program, email or call Jeff to walk you through the process. Students/Parents need to be aware of their Team Leader and their Team/School Name to register correctly.
Step 2: Adding Team Members to an Existing Team - Parents & Additional Mara-Fun-Family Members
*Parents: REGISTER your child by clicking 'Register' and selecting the MaraFun Registration INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION USE ONLY option (Note: parents must complete the form "for someone else" sign waiver for students).
*There are some cases where the Team Leader may choose to register their whole team.
Step 3: Registration Package information
We will provide you with the registration package with complete details. Starting March 23, Team Leaders AND Parents will receive weekly newsletters with running tips, nutrition tips, videos, updates and more.
The 2026 MaraFun 10-week and 6-week program will be provided to each Team Leader once they register.
NOTE: All registrations are final. There are no refunds of registration fees, no transfers to third party and no deferments for any reasons.

MaraFun Information
SASKATOON ROAD RUNNERS ASSOCIATION
Basic Information:
- Registration – an adult signs up as a Team Leader and registers a team name. Then students (or their parents) can sign up on that team afterwards.
- The 10-week running program begins March 17.
- The 6-week running program begins April 14.
- The date for your run will be scheduled on May 25 - 2.2 km’s in length. Your children will have run an entire full marathon throughout this running program. There will be lots to celebrate after all their hard work and training.
Support:
1. Weekly EMAILS: Each Sunday, Team Leaders will receive the weekly program material to lead your MaraFun Team.
2. MaraFun PRIVATE Webpage - watch for an e-invite from Saskatchewan Marathon to set up your access. This page gives you access to the materials you need in one handy spot so you can download or print what you need including the entire MaraFun Program and the MaraFun Progress tracker. Other resources will be added along the way.
3. Coaching sessions: We have local fitness leaders sharing their experience, skills and their love of running on video. Another great resource in the private webpage.
Before your race
Team Leaders will receive a MaraFun Kit that includes medals and tees for your team along with other goodies to make your Race Day extra special.
Other Information:
- Take lots of pictures and share them with us! It is a day to celebrate a great achievement!
- There is no timing of the MaraFun participants.
- Please have your runners dress for the weather. On a cold day, layering your clothes is the best thing to do.
- Please wear your MaraFun t-shirt to your event. There is a license plate on the front of the t-shirt have fun decorating them and making them your own. We can’t wait to see them!
- Remember, every student is here to complete the 2.2km’s. Please keep your comments positive and encouraging!
- Please limit the number of non-participants on your course. This is the students’ time to shine.

MaraFun is a program developed by the SRRA and runs in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Marathon. The MaraFun is for youth aged 6-15 who participate in the Saskatchewan Marathon in a novel way. Each MaraFun participant will run, walk, or wheelchair a minimum of 4 Km per week in the weeks leading up their race day. MaraFun participants cap off their hard work with a fun run on their own local course on race day. The cost of this program covers the training program, t-shirts and medals for each participant. Throughout the program, there will be opportunities for the participants to learn about an active lifestyle, maintaining a physical activity program to promote health, and the importance of having personal goals. It is truly a unique way for youth to increase their activity levels, nutritional knowledge, and self-esteem.
