This year, our Pomerleau BC team is proud to return to the Vancouver Pride Run and Walk to once again raise funds for Rainbow Refugee — an organization that continues to save lives and offer hope to LGBTQIA2S+ individuals fleeing persecution around the world.

Last year, we saw how powerful it is when a community comes together with purpose. We’re returning because the need is still urgent, and because Rainbow Refugee remains a lifeline for people who are simply trying to live safely and authentically.

For me, this cause will always be deeply personal. I grew up in Syria, where being LGBTQ+ is not just unsafe — it can cost you your life. I know what it means to hide who you are, to live in fear, and to dream of a place where you can exist without danger. Canada gave me that chance. Today, I can live openly, work proudly, and contribute to my community — something millions of LGBTQ+ people still cannot do.

At Pomerleau, Love and Authenticity are not just words on a poster. They are values we practice. Love means showing up for people who need us. Authenticity means creating space for everyone to live as their true selves. Supporting Rainbow Refugee is a direct expression of both — it is a commitment to human dignity, safety, and belonging.

We are running to celebrate diversity, to honour those who are still silenced, and to demonstrate that inclusion is something we build together. We’re proud to work for a company that stands for human rights and community impact, not just in principle but in action.
