My Story…
Family and friends,
I’m continuing my long-standing tradition of supporting the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run Walk and Wheel in support of the Calgary Health Foundation. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has supported many children I know, helping them become healthy and strong when they needed it most.
This year looks a little different for me. I won’t be in town on May 10, so I’ll be running my 10KM individually in Fish Creek Park on May 8. On Mother’s Day, my godson Wes and his brother Adam will be running, keeping our tradition going strong.
Donate to my run: My fundraising goal for 2026 is $2,000, and every contribution supports local Calgary families navigating unexpected and incredibly difficult circumstances.
Here’s a fun twist: Every donation to my fundraising page will be entered into a draw for one of three $150 Sport Chek gift cards!
Join the experience: If you’ve ever considered taking part, whether walking or running 5KM or 10KM, I encourage you to sign up and experience it for yourself. The atmosphere is truly one of a kind, and it’s a wonderful way to get fresh air while supporting an incredible cause.
As I celebrate 20 years running, I’m especially grateful for your encouragement and generosity. When I’m back in Calgary next year, I plan to create a team for our 21st year, and I’d love for you to join.
Mike
Description

Calgary Health Foundation funds breakthrough investments, like giving every newborn a fighting chance. We’re ensuring the one in eight babies born prematurely in our community have access to the best technologies available, and we’re actively addressing Alberta’s higher than average preterm birth rate through applied research. Your participation and support through the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run, Walk, & Wheel will support our ongoing Newborns Need campaign which aims to raise over $60 million to transform neonatal care across Southern Alberta.
