DATE: August 30, 2026

Welcome to the final event of our Ontario Season. Welland Canal Open Water Swim
Featuring the
Welland 15K Ultraswim.... yes it's back!
One of the most iconic open-water swim events of the season, and a part of the Canaqua Sports Open Water Swim Series since 2017. With distances of 1K, 2.5K, 5K, 10K, and our 15K Ultraswim, this event has something for everyone.
We tried the 10K last year, and it is once again a part of this event.
Imagine a 10K and a 15K at the same event!

Elma's pride was in this distance as it brought the younger age group swimmers to this event, often trying open water swimming for the first time.
We welcome ALL open water swimmers, regardless of your ability, to come and enjoy a day of swimming at the beautiful Welland International Flatwater Centre.
What a great way to end the open water season!

Canaqua Sports Partners with Childhood Cancer Canada

Canaqua Sports is proud to announce our partnership with Childhood Cancer Canada. This partnership is a celebration of shared values: perseverance, hope, and a deep commitment to community. Together, Childhood Cancer Canada and Canaqua Sports aim to raise awareness, inspire action, and support children and families affected by childhood cancer across Canada.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Canaqua Sports for standing with us. Open water swimmers and Swimrunners face the unknown with every race – unpredictable conditions, long distances, and moments that test their mental strength as much as their physical endurance,” said Kyle Smith, Director of Development, Childhood Cancer Canada. “That same courage and determination lives in the kids we support. Every day, they navigate their own challenging journeys with incredible bravery.”

Welland 15K Ultra Swim
What's old is new again!
Introducing the Welland 15K Ultra Swim
As part of our events, we started a new series called the 15K Ultra Swim Series in 2025 as a longer set of events for those of you looking for something a little longer than the standard 10K event
As this event is our final Ontario event of the season we decided to bring back the 15K distance, making this event a little different from our other Welland events. So come on out and join us for the final event of our Ontario season and give yourself an extra challenge!

From all of us at Canaqua Sports.
Thank you for your continued support
