Our Honorary Chairs – representing the Brampton Community and the Veteran Community
Mayor Patrick Brown

Since the first time Patrick Brown was sworn in as Mayor of Brampton, he has demonstrated, in action and in words, his complete support of Veterans and those currently serving in the Canadian Forces. He continues to do so by agreeing to be one of our Honorary Chairs, a position he has held since the very beginning of this annual event
Major (Ret’d) Paul Hale, MSM, CD

Paul started his military career as a reservist with the Algonquin Regiment on 6 July 1970. He served 41 years and 9 months in the Regular Force and Reserves. In addition to the Algonquin Regiment, he served with the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canda and the Lorne Scots. He has been a strong advocate for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. Paul completed eight overseas deployments, Cyprus x 2, Balkans x 2, Angola, South Africa and Afghanistan x 2. He is member of the Lorne Scots Regimental Senate, and his mantra has always been “Without soldiers, I do not have a job.”
In Memorial – Air Commodore Surjeet Singh Bhatti

From the first year of this event, Air Commodore Bhatti supported it and served as one of our Honorary Chairs. He was active in the Veterans’ Community of Brampton through The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15 and was a member of the Board of Directors of The Regimental Museum of The Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment). Sadly, he passed away in May 2025, and he is missed.
