The Beneva Mississauga Marathon relies on the support of wonderful volunteers every year. Not only do volunteers help make the race a memorable one for participants, they too are rewarded by the experience. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, experience the excitement of the event and be involved with your community.
Volunteer dates include:
Friday, April 24th - Great Hall, Mississauga Civic Centre
Saturday, April 25th - Great Hall, Mississauga Civic Centre
Sunday, April 26th - RACE DAY - Celebration Square and Lakefront Promenade Park

Information for Potential Volunteers
- Volunteers must be age 16 and older (on-course marshals must be 18+).
- Please read the role description carefully and make note of the date, shift time (if applicable) and location for the role.
- No volunteer orientation required to participate
- All volunteer tasks require standing and/or walking and some heavy lifting.
- Volunteers will receive a short-sleeve shirt to be worn during your shift.
- Light snacks and water/pop will be available.
- To register for more than one role please fill out separate forms.
- Volunteer hours count towards required high school hours and forms will be signed at the end of your shift.

START/FINISH LINE VOLUNTEERS - RACE DAY SUNDAY - CELEBRATION SQUARE
Start/Finish line volunteers will be stationed at the Start/Finish line. This role includes: ▪ Directing and managing the start corral gates. ▪Assisting to maintain the integrity of the of the start area on race day. ▪ Directing participants through the finish chute. ▪ Assisting with water distribution. ▪ Assisting with participant and spectator flow. ▪ Standing and some heavy lifting as needed. Location: Celebration Square TIME: 5:45am to 12:00pm

COURSE MARSHALS - RACE DAY SUNDAY
Course Marshals will be stationed at various key points throughout the race course to make sure all participants stay on course and have a successful, safe event. This role includes: ▪ Cheering on and directing participants on the course. ▪ Maintaining safety on the course by warning participants of potential hazards and communicating with the public when necessary. All Course Marshals must be 18 years +. You will be required to check in at Mississauga City Hall on either Friday April 24 or Saturday April 25 to receive your high visibility vest and more details. **We will do our best to have you at a location within close proximity to your home.
SHERIDAN COLLEGE COURSE MARSHALS - RACE DAY SUNDAY Access code only
Course Marshals will be stationed at various key points throughout the race course to make sure all participants stay on course and have a successful, safe event. This role includes: ▪ Cheering on and directing participants on the course. ▪ Assisting police and traffic management with stopping or re-directing motorists. ▪ Maintaining safety on the course by warning participants of potential hazards and communicating with the public when necessary. All Course Marshals must be 18 years +.
BENEVA VOLUNTEERS - CELEBRATION SQUARE Access code only
Beneva Volunteers will start at the 3K water station assisting with set up and distribution of water to the participants, then move to the finish line to assist with participant flow and medal distribution. This role includes: ▪ Directing participants through the finish chute. ▪ Assisting with water distribution. ▪ Assisting with participant and spectator flow. ▪ Standing and some heavy lifting as needed. Location: Celebration Square TIME: 5:30am to 12:00pm
