BIG NEWS FOR 2026! All donations to Project Watershed of up to $20,000 will be matched by a generous, frequent donor to Comox Valley environmental causes! That means that every donation you make will be doubled!
Celebrate Earth Day with a trail run through the Seal Bay Nature Park, located in the Comox Valley.
Our grassroots event will feature a live DJ, prizes, post-run pancakes and a well-marked course through the gorgeous Seal Bay Nature Park. Plenty of high-fives and good vibes all day!
We respectfully acknowledge that the land we gather on is on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
CAUSE
We will be raising funds for Project Watershed, a local Comox Valley charity. Funds raised through our event will focus on the Kus-Kus-Sum Project. As part of our Estuary Stewardship, Project Watershed has committed to the restoration of the Field Sawmill site in partnership with the K’ómoks First Nation and City of Courtenay.
More information on the project is here: https://projectwatershed.ca/2020/01/27/kus-kus-sum/
ZERO WASTE
Our goal is to make this event zero-waste, meaning that there is absolutely nothing that goes to the landfill. We will make the commitment to not bring any waste that must go to the landfill to this event and will have our Green Team on site for recycling of waste created.
Races create a huge amount of waste and we are trying to eliminate all waste that goes to the landfill. Why not do this on a race that celebrates Earth Day :)

SUPER IMPORTANT POLICIES
Safety is our top priority, and these policies are in place to protect you, fellow racers, and volunteers. Please respect that we have insurance coverage for registered participants only and these policies are strictly enforced. All of these policies are for safety reasons.
Breaking any of these policies will result in a ban from future races:
- REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ONLY - Only registered in-person racers may be on the course during the race and if you are found racing the course without valid registration, you will be banned from future events. We have zero tolerance for this as it jeopardizes our insurance, permits and your safety.
- WAIVER - All participants must complete an online waiver when registering. A completed waiver must be signed prior to participating – no exceptions.
- SWAPPING - No swapping bibs. If you are caught breaking this rule, you will be disqualified and banned from future events. See #1 REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ONLY.
- CAN NOT COMPLETE - If you cannot complete the course for ANY reason, you MUST notify one of our Course Marshals or Finish Line crew. We don’t want to send Search and Rescue out to find you if you have gone home and are having a nap :) Just let us know, please. Thank you! Medical staff and Race Directors have the authority to remove any racer if they deem it unsafe for the runner to continue.
