Are you Ready to Race! Tri‑Quest Participants and Spectators,
A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW!
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Muriel Lake Tri‑Quest. Please review the following rules and instructions to help us deliver a safe, fair, and enjoyable event for everyone.
Entry Categories
- Teams
- May be all male, all female, or co‑ed
- 3 or 4 people per team: 1 biker, 1 or 2 paddlers, and 1 runner
- Adult Team: All members 18+
- Youth Team: All members 12–17
- Mixed youth/adult teams are classified as Adult Teams
- Adult Solo: 18+
- Youth Solo: under 18
Registration and Packet Pick‑Up
- T‑shirts: Register by May 1 and purchase a Tri-Quest T-Shirt to be guaranteed one. We order extras, but availability after that date is not guaranteed.
- Early pick‑up: Dates and times will be announced—watch our social media or check the event page.
- Team pick‑up: One team member may pick up packets and T‑shirts for the whole team.
- Waiver: A paper copy of the Participant Accident Waiver & Release of Liability (acknowledged online) must be signed at registration.
- Teams may pick up paper forms for teammates on Friday and return signed forms Saturday morning at the registration desk before the race.
Race‑Day Procedures
- Bibs and stickers: Your race packet includes your racing bib and two small stickers with the same number. Use the stickers to label your bike and kayak.
- Watercraft drop‑off: Upon arrival, drop watercraft at the corral by the main office playground. Corrals are labeled by bib number. Check in with the volunteer in an orange T‑shirt.
- Bike drop‑off: Proceed to the Wendall Orr (Muriel Lake) Ball Diamonds and place your bike in the corral by the start line. Volunteers will be on site.
- Maps: Course maps are provided in your race packet.
- Road use: The main campground road remains open to traffic all day. Traffic Marshals will pause vehicles to allow racers to pass safely—use caution at all times.
- Bib placement: Wear your bib on your chest or right leg.
- Checkpoints: Be prepared to call out your bib number at segment checkpoints if requested.
- Equipment retrieval: Only racers with a matching bib number will be allowed into the corrals to retrieve equipment after finishing.
- Parking: After equipment drop‑off, please park in the Staging Area Parking Lot.
Bike Segment Rules
- Propulsion: No e‑bikes. All bikes must be human‑powered.
- Helmets: Wearing an approved bike helmet is MANDATORY.
- Terrain: Expect pavement, gravel, and uneven/narrow cross‑country trails with loose gravel, dirt, rocks, and grass.
- Road etiquette: Stay on the right side of the road; vehicles may be present.
- Corral procedure: Walk your bike into the bike corral and follow all Race Marshal instructions before starting the next leg.
- Teams: Walk and stow your bike prior to tagging your partner for the next leg.
- Route: See the Bike Route map in your packet.
Paddle Segment Rules
- Watercraft: Canoe, kayak, or paddle board only. Must be solely propelled by one or two people using paddles—no other propulsion.
- PFDs: Wearing a flotation device on the water is MANDATORY.
- Launch/landing: Volunteers can assist, but racers must participate in placing and stowing their own watercraft before starting the next leg.
- Teams: Stow the watercraft prior to tagging the next runner.
- Egress: After exiting the water, paddle segment racers must return to the race finish line by road.
- Safety: A safety boat will be on the water to assist in emergencies.
- Route: See the Paddle Route map in your packet.
Run Segment Information
- Course integrity: Keep it fun—stay on the marked course.
- Checkpoint: There is one checkpoint; be prepared to call out your number if needed.
- Hydration: A water station will be available on this leg.
- Route: See the Run Route map.
On‑Course Support
- Volunteers in orange Tri‑Quest T‑shirts will be stationed throughout the routes to provide directions and encouragement.

If I want to sign up as a team, do we all pay the Team rate?
No, your team captain will sign up to pay the team rate, and then each member of the team will also need to register for free as team members.
How long are each of the stages of the race?
The event consists of three stages, featuring 9 kms of biking, 3 kms of paddling, and 4.5 kms of running.
Does everyone need to sign a waiver?
Yes, everyone 18 and older will need to sign a waiver. Participants under the age of 18 will be required to have their parent or Legal Guardian's sign a waiver for them.
I'm a parent who wants to sign up with my children who are under 18. Which category do I register in?
Mixed youth/adult teams are classified as Adult Teams.
What is the promo code for the discounted camping for registrants at Muriel Lake M.D. Park?
"2026QUEST" is the promo code to enter at letscamp.ca
Will the promo code work at any other campground on any day? Also, if I register for this race, is camping included?
No, the promo code will only work at Muriel Lake M.D. Park for the weekend of the race. To book your camping, you'll need to go to letscamp.ca and search Muriel Lake M.D. Park. Registering for the Tri-Quest race and camping require completely separate bookings.
What's happening after the race?
The onsite BBQ and the concert that will feature local talent, will both begin at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The concert is a free event that everyone is welcome to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. (There will be a charge for the BBQ.)
Is alcohol or cannabis allowed onsite?
Regular campground regulations must be followed. As per Bylaw No. 1864, open liquor and cannabis shall be prohibited in public areas including but not limited to: highways, trails, walking paths, public beaches, washrooms, outhouses, shower buildings, and in picnic shelters. A person may consume liquor or cannabis within their registered campsites only.
