Overview
The idea for this race stemmed from discussions about organizing a race in our area and having it be a fundraiser. As such, all proceeds from this race will go directly to Penticton Search and Rescue, a dedicated group of volunteers that are vital to our outdoor community.
This race takes place in the Three Blind Mice trail network, just outside of Penticton. This is a special place for many that play in the outdoors. The trails are amazing, thank to PACA and their stewardship. It's all single track! Some of it can be quite technical, while other parts are are super flowy.
Your race organizers are 5 friends with loads of trail running experience. Our goals are to show off the trails off the Mice and to ensure that each runner has a genuinely fun and rewarding experience.

Course
Both races start and finish at the parking lot on Poplar Grove Road. After a quick 500m on the KVR, the runners will head up Riddle Road to the Mice. All runners will complete a loop of the Mice using Southern Dancer, Bronco, Rainbow, Neverland and Yellow Brick Road trails. The 25K runners are done for the day, while the 50K runners will head back into the Mice. This time they will use Marmot, Tripod, Sidewinder, Rusty Muffler, Corral, Fred and Slabs.

Cold weather gear if indicated
Aid Stations and Drop Bags
Aid stations
We will have two aid stations, one at the Rusty Muffler parking lot and the other at the Pearly Gates. The Rusty Muffler aid station is approximately at the 14K mark, so make sure you are carrying enough nutrition and fluids to get you there. The Pearly Gates aid station is approximately at the 24K mark, and it is meant mostly for the 50K runners before they head back out into the Mice. The 50K runners will have access to the Rusty Muffler aid station on their second loop as well.
Aid stations will have water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, pickles, and some other surprises.
We are a "cupless" race. Please carry your own reusable cup.
Drop bags
The 50K runners are allowed one small drop bag which will be transported to the Pearly Gates aid station.
There will also be a spot for everyone to leave a bag at the Poplar Grove parking lot. It might be a good idea to have some warm clothing for after the race.
Parking at Start/Finish
Parking in the area is limited. There are approximately 30 spots at the start finish. Some of these will be used by race organizers. We will be coming up with a plan for parking as we get closer to the race. Please try to car pool or get dropped off if possible.
Post-race party
Still finalizing things, but we are planning for a post-race BBQ. We will make sure that there are vegetarian and vegan options. Guests of runners are welcome to eat, we just ask that they make a donation to the cause.
Race Rules
1. Be kind to your fellow racers and to our volunteers. Please stop to help anyone that needs your help.
2. Bibs should be visible. Make sure to check-in at each aid station as volunteers will be tracking your progress.
3. Stay on the marked trails. No cutting switchbacks.
4. Runner's may only receive aid at designated aid stations.
5. Headphones are discouraged for your safety. You may encounter wildlife, or worse, mountain bikers.
6. No pacers.
7. No dogs.
8. Only registered runners can participate. No bib transfers.
9. Don't litter. Common sense.
10. If you are unable to finish the race, please notify an aid station captain or an official at the start/finish line. Otherwise we will have to send out people to look for you.
11. Please respect the cut-offs. You may be asked to pull out if we feel that you won't be able to finish on time.
Volunteers
We are going to need a team of volunteers to make this an amazing experience for the runners. Volunteer shifts range from just a couple of hours in the morning to an all day aid station. If you are interested, please click the volunteer tab and sign up. Feel free to email us if you have any questions.
Transfers/Cancellations
If you need to change distances
Runners are able to change from one distance to another up until the day before the race. If you are changing from the 25K to the 50K, you will need to pay the difference in registration fees. No partial refunds will be given if you are changing from the 50K to the 25K.
If you need to cancel
No refunds will be given. The good news is that your registration fees went to a good cause!
If we need to cancel
If we need to cancel the race due to mother nature, you will be given a 50% credit to future race. Yes, we are hoping to make this an annual thing.
