Race for the Roses
Saturday, April 25th - 9:00am - Queeny Park, Smith Pavilion
RACE for the ROSES in tribute to Kentucky Derby Week - 5K timed Race with all proceeds going to SHRINERS HOSPITAL, St. Louis, MO. An approximate 1K Family Walk will also be available for families with children. The Shriners MOOLAH CLOWNS will be at the event entertaining us and making balloon animals.
5K participants receive a free race shirt, and family walk participants can purchase a shirt during registration.
Men's and Women's first place runners will receive a dozen roses along with a Winner's Plaque. 2nd & 3rd places will also receive plaques. Medals for winners in Age Groups. Gift certificates for local businesses awarded to "Best Kentucky Derby Themed Hat". Come join the fun!
Packet Pickup Information
Packets can be picked up on Friday, April 24th at Fleet Feet Chesterfield from 12pm-5pm.
Awards
1 Dozen Roses and a Plaque will be given to the Top Overall Male and Female Finishers. Plaques will be given to 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers.
The top male and female finisher in the following age groups will receive an award medal: 19 & under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 and over.
Race photos and Winners photos will be posted on our Kiwanis Club Websites and Facebook pages. Article with photos will also be sent to Saint Louis County News organizations.
Derby Day Hat Contest
Best Derby Day Hat Contest will be held before and during Race, All entries must register at "Hat" table before race or within 10 Minutes after the Start Time of the Race; with winner announced aproximately 20 minutes after first runners cross finish line. Only one Winner will be awarded and will receive Gift Certificates to local businesses/restaurants and several Red Roses. Judging will be conducted by Kiwanis Club Members.
