RACE CANCELLED

We were informed by the Superintendent at Cuivre River State Park today that due to the heavy accumulation of rain over the past several days and a large portion of the course being on a protected wild area, the Park will not allow mass participation on the trails, and we will not be able to host the event tomorrow. The parks department has a rain fall policy that is designed to help protect the trails, and large areas of the course have standing water and having mass participation will cause damage to the protected areas of the park. While we have been in contact with the parks department throughout the week and monitoring the rain, we were hopeful yesterday when we marked the course, as the park was still on board. But when they inspected the area today, they made the determination that they couldn't have the event after the heavier than expected rainfall overnight.

At this point, we are not able to reschedule the event for a new date in the near future, but are working on our plans for what to do with this situation. We will plan to reach out to all participants with an update by Monday. For now, we highly encourage you to visit today's packet pickup to get your shirt and finisher medal. If you can't get to packet pickup today, reply to this email and we'll ship your shirt and medal.

We are deeply disappointed in not being able to have the event this weekend, and while the decision was out of our hands, we completely respect the reasoning from the parks department, as their purpose to preserve the parks, and it was difficult to find a reschedule date that worked with all the parties involved (our team, the park, vendors, etc.). We appreciate your understanding, and share in your disappointment.
