Conquer the Hills at Gold Creek Reservoir!

Get ready to tackle 18km of pure off-road challenge in one of Brisbane’s most iconic trail races! Originating many years ago, thanks to Peter Holles and the Brookfield Runners, this legendary course around the Gold Creek Reservoir will test your endurance, strength, and determination as you climb 18 serious hills.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of TRAQ and the 20th year of this iconic event, we’re raising the stakes.
This year, runners can take on the ultimate challenge — a double loop of the legendary Reservoir course.

Reach the Reservoir, turn around, and head straight back through those infamous 18 serious hills… then do it all again. Push your limits, test your grit, and earn your finish by conquering 36 serious hills over a brutal, beautiful 36km.

Finish back at the Reservoir knowing you’ve completed one of the toughest and most rewarding TRAQ challenges yet — a true anniversary feat worthy of the milestone.

Starting as a small, friendly event, the race has evolved into a must-do fitness challenge for locals and trail enthusiasts alike. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere our events have a reputation for friendly trail chats, bucket loads of encouragement and a finish line with fresh fruit, soft drinks, electrolytes, water and fundraising sausage sizzle to refuel and celebrate your epic run.

📍 This year’s twist? The race will be run Clockwise! Or anti-clockwise then clockwise if you're doing the Double Loop.

Event Start times

Double Loop - 5:30am

Classic Pinnacles (single loop) - 7:00am

Parking and Transport Information

All event parking will be at Brookfield Recreation Reserve (public car park). TRAQ Marshals will be on-site to assist with managing parking.

Shuttle Bus Service:

• A shuttle bus will transport participants and their families to and from Gold Creek Reservoir.

• Departure from Brookfield Recreation Reserve begins at 4:30am, with buses leaving once full.

• The last bus for the double loop will leave Brookfield Recreation Reserve at 5:00am

• We anticipate two buses will operate to transport everyone out to Gold Creek Reservoir, aiming to have all participants there by 6:30am.

• Return shuttles from Gold Creek Reservoir will begin at approximately 9:30am, again departing when full. Turnaround time is approximately 30 minutes.

Important Notes:

• SEQWater has restricted parking at Gold Creek Reservoir and requests that public parking be kept available for day-use visitors.

• You may be dropped off at Gold Creek Reservoir if preferred. TRAQ Marshals will ensure no event parking occurs at the reservoir.
