FAQ's
We want your Run with Pride experience to feel welcoming, accessible, and stress-free. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about race-day logistics, accessibility, t-shirts, fundraising, and participation. If you don’t see your question answered here, we’re always happy to help.
Why is Run with Pride an evening event?
Run with Pride takes place in the evening due to legacy events taking place at Springbank Park and related City of London permit availability. While we know some participants prefer a morning race, we appreciate the community’s flexibility and support in making this evening event possible. We will continue to search for a morning permit each year should it become available.
Will there be prizes?

The registration fees seem high - what's up with that?
Run with Pride is more than a race—it’s a celebration AND fundraiser for QX. Registration fees help cover the costs of putting on the event, and remaining revenue and additional donations allow us to keep our programs and services through the QX 2SLGBTQIA+ Community Hub Program free and accessible year-round. This includes paying the facilitators who make our events possible, covering occupancy costs like rent and internet, building a fund to hire staff members, and other things like program materials and snacks. We have also conducted an environmental scan of other races in the area to ensure our costs are similar to those of other races.
What is the “Sponsor a Runner” option?
New this year, this option allows individuals to donate the cost of a race registration to support equitable access for community members. To sponsor a runner, please purchase this option in the Store where you can also find t-shirt sales.
How are these funds used?
Funds raised through the Sponsor a Runner option are used to support access to Run with Pride registrations for community members who request financial assistance. Any remaining funds are directed toward QX’s year-round programs and services through the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community Hub Program.
How can I request a sponsored registration?
Community members seeking support can email runwithpride@qxcanada.org to join the waitlist. While we do our best to accommodate requests, we are not able to guarantee sponsored registrations for everyone. Available sponsorships will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on funds raised from the "Sponsor a Runner" option.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
We’re sorry, but we aren’t able to provide refunds if you can’t attend for any reason. Your registration still helps support QX and the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community Hub Program.
If the event is cancelled, will I receive a refund?
If the race is cancelled, we cannot issue refunds due to upfront vendor and event costs that still need to be covered. Any remaining funds will go directly to support QX and our programs for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, ensuring your registration continues to make an impact.
Will photos be taken at the event?
Yes. Event photographers will be on site capturing race-day moments. Photos will be uploaded to Race Roster following the event where they can be downloaded free of charge.
I don’t want my photo taken. Can I opt-out?
Absolutely — your consent is important to us. You are required to indicate your preference during registration, and our team will ensure no photos are taken of you. A race bib will be assigned to help photographers easily identify participants who have opted out. If you are captured in a photo, it will not be uploaded to Race Roster or social media, and will be deleted. If a photo is shared in error, please let us know and we will remove it immediately.
When and where can I pick up my bib and race kit?
Bib and kit pick-up will be available:
- June 7, 2026 – Morning of the Forest City Road Race
- June 13, 2026 – Wortley Pride
- June 14, 2026 – On site before the race
Additional details, including times and locations, will be shared via email in late May.
Are race t-shirts included with registration?
No. Race t-shirts are sold separately to keep registration fees as low and accessible as possible for this fundraiser.
When do shirt sales close?
Shirt sales close on April 30. We are unable to accept t-shirt requests after this date due to the required printing time and kit pick-up.
Can I purchase a shirt after I register?
Yes. Shirts can be purchased later through the Store until the sale deadline.
Will there be extra t-shirts available for purchase on race day?
At this time, we do not plan to have additional shirts available for purchase on race day due to the upfront production costs. To ensure you receive a shirt, we encourage you to purchase one in advance through the online store before the sales deadline.
If you, your organization, or business are interested in sponsoring race t-shirts and increasing your brand awareness, please reach out to us at runwithpride@qxcanada.org.
Is the race accessible?
Yes. The 2K, 5K, and 10K routes are fully accessible for participants using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. The race will be run on the paved pathways in Springbank Park.
Are there accessible washrooms?
Accessible washrooms are available at the start/finish area.
Where are washrooms located?
Washrooms are available at:
- The start/finish area
- Greenway Park
- Springbank Pumphouse
Locations may be subject to availability on race day.
Will there be water stations?
Yes. Hydration stations will be located at each turnaround point along the race route. A hydration station will also be available at the main event under Guy Lombardo Pavilion.
Will cups be provided?
Yes, cups will be available on the race course. For environmental reasons, participants are encouraged to bring a reusable cup if possible. Cups will be limited at the main event area under Guy Lombardo Pavilion.
What is the InfoVillage?
New this year, the InfoVillage is a dedicated space at Run with Pride that showcases community partners, resources, and initiatives supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Who can participate in the InfoVillage?
We welcome participation from organizations that are led by and for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, those offering programs and services tailored to community-identified needs, affirming health and wellness providers, and research or advocacy initiatives that support 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Please note that we are unable to provide booths to those who wish to sell products on site due to permit limitations. You may have a booth to showcase your products, but purchases must be made after the event concludes.
How can my organization participate?
Organizations interested in hosting a booth can contact runwithpride@qxcanada.org for more information and availability.
Where can I find route maps?
Route maps for the 10K and 5K races can be found on the main event page. These routes are the same as in previous years. The 2K route will follow the 5K route, looping back after 1km.
What if I can’t participate but still want to help?
You can support Run with Pride by sponsoring the race, donating in-kind items for prizing and/or services, sponsoring a runner, or volunteering. For inquiries, contact runwithpride@qxcanada.org.
Still have questions? Reach out to us at runwithpride@qxcanada.org, and a member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
