3rd Annual Latham Centers' Donkey Dash

Thank you for volunteering for the first ever Latham Centers' Donkey Dash 5K. Please find the description of each volunteer opportunity below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jackie O'Connor at joconnor@lathamcenters.org.

Please note- you are more than welcome to sign up for more than one volunteer opportunity.

Same Day Registration- Volunteers will be in charge of greeting runners who have NOT signed up online prior to race day. You will be in charge of ensuring their race bib is assigned, liability waivers signed, and payment taken. (8am-10:45am)

Pre-Register Check In- Volunteers will be in charge of checking in those who have pre-registered online, handing out assigned race bibs as well as handing out shirts/medals. *Please note not all runners will receive a shirt and/or medal. (8am-10:45am)

Place Signage- Volunteers will assist in placing the route signs and sponsorship signage in the pre-designated locations. (8am-10:00am)

Water Station(s)- Volunteers will work one of the two water stations. Setting up the water station, ensuring cups of water are set up for runners to grab and go. Volunteers are also responsible for set up and clean up, leaving the location as clean as you found it. Table, cups, water, trash disposal will be provided. Most important, CHEERING ON THE RUNNERS!! (8am-11:30 am or last runner)

Donkey Photo Station- Volunteers will work with Donkey handlers and assist guests on taking pictures with the donkeys. Working the line, letting them know where they can get their picture, answering questions. (time TBD)

Raffle- Volunteers will be in charge of setting up raffle items on tables, selling raffle tickets at the table as well as working the crowd looking to sell tickets. (8am- 12:00pm)

Route Guide/Cheerleaders- Volunteers will be assigned a specific route station and assist runners in running in the right direction. Each location will be pre-determined based on the route, road intersections and police recommendation. We are looking for the ultimate cheerleaders at each station! (8am-11:30 or last runner)

Hello Volunteers!

Thank you for joining us for the first Latham Centers' Donkey Dash!!

Volunteers should arrive at 8am and check in with Jennifer at the registration tables. You will be divided into your groups/designated assignments, and we will run through the race details and have time for a quick Q&A.

We ask that you park in the far parking lot of Hog Island on the grass/dirt area. If your volunteer assignment is located off property, we ask that you park at Skaket Beach, the Captain Linnell House and or get dropped off/carpool. Our race route does run through residential areas, and we want to make sure there are not cars parked everywhere on the route.
