My Story…
Why I’m Running
As the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, I have the best job in the world. I have the tremendous privilege of seeing every day what happens when young people are surrounded by opportunity, caring adults, and a safe place to belong.
I also see the growing need to open more doors for more kids.
I’m running this 5K not because I love to run (I do ;)), but because I believe deeply in what our team makes possible for so many kids every day. Every mile I run represents a young person who needs stability, mentorship, connection, and joy, especially during the hours they need us most...which is more often now than it has ever been.
When you support my run, you’re not supporting a race. You’re supporting opportunity, experience, and exposure for all including:
*Healthy snacks and a warm meal every day.
*A teen who finds their confidence.
*A family that knows their child is safe after school.
*A child who discovers a passion in STEM, the arts, athletics, or new career path.
*A community that believes every child deserves opportunities to thrive.
Leadership means showing up...even on the starting line.
If you believe, like I do, that every young person deserves a place to grow, I would be honored to have you join me. Whether it’s $5, $25, $100, or simply sharing the BGCSM event page, every dollar counts. I can personally attest that your support makes a real and immediate difference.
Help me run towards brighter futures for our community's youth...together.
