The Emily Murphy Centre Second Stage Residences

The Emily Murphy Centre Second Stage Residences was established in 1989 to serve women who have experienced violence, with or without children, who have left, or are thinking about leaving, their abusive situation. We offer rent-geared to income one to four bedroom apartments in a controlled entry building outfitted with 24-hour video surveillance, alarm buttons in each unit, fenced yard and security doors on all exits. We offer individual and group counselling for women and children, as well as advocacy for women who require assistance. We have an outreach service that meets the needs of women in the community who may not be able or want to live in our residence. We provide referrals to community resources and practical assistance in the form of food, clothing, hygiene items, furniture and other household items. The Emily Murphy Centre offers a child development area, free laundry, a creative play area and a recreational area.
