My Story…
1. How are you really doing?
2. How are your loved ones doing?
You have made it this far please read on.
I am not a regular runner. In fact, this is the one run I do each year.
For the past nine years, I have participated in The Run for Life in support of the Centre for Suicide Prevention in Calgary. I run in memory of my son, David, who died by suicide in 2015.
I run because I don’t want any other family to experience the loss that changed ours forever. I run to honor David’s life and to help shine a light on the importance of mental health awareness, education, and support.
I have since moved to Alaska, but this run remains deeply personal and unchanged for me. For those who have supported me before, the fundraiser is the same: one dollar per meter you want to see me run. I may be getting older, but I still have a few kilometers left in these old legs
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping provide lifesaving resources, education, and hope to individuals and families who need it most. Together, we can reduce stigma, encourage connection, and help ensure that fewer families have to walk this same path of loss.
Thank you for helping me remember David, and for standing with me in support of life and the prevention of suicide.
