My Story…

In 1987, my 16-year-old brother Russ went missing and was found, 32 days later, dead by suicide. Because the pain was so great and there was no support, I didn't talk about Russ or suicide for more than three decades. 35 years after his death I received free suicide loss counselling from the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto. The DCGT changed my life. Now I am able to share my story to help others and make talking about suicide less scary and less stigmatized. Please donate, and become part of the team that works towards changing lives -- or saving the lives of our friends, family, co-workers during their times of distress. Unfortunately, no one is immune. But we know now that suicide is preventable. Thank you!
