My Story…
Committed to $150 but going for higher than that
Description
I’ve signed up for Island Prostate Centre’s Annual Father's Day Walk / Run for Prostate Cancer. This year’s event takes place on Sunday, June 21st.
Trust me — I know prostate cancer isn’t the easiest thing to talk about.
But here’s the reality: 1 in 8 men on Vancouver Island will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
I know eight men. You know eight men.
That statistic suddenly feels very personal.
I’m participating because I want to make sure the men in our lives continue to have free access to critical support when they need it most. And this is where I need your help.
By committing to this event and raising funds, I’m helping ensure that:
Because of you, a newly diagnosed man can connect with Island Prostate Centre’s Nurse Navigator program.
Because of you, he can attend expert-led sessions on nutrition, treatment options, and self-care.
Because of you, he won’t have to navigate one of the hardest moments of his life alone.
Every dollar truly stays right here on Vancouver Island, supporting local patients and families.
Thank you for helping me make sure that when one of those eight men hears the words “you have prostate cancer,” support is already waiting for him.
