Let's get ready for Stowe's first ever amphibious race! Here's what you need to know:
- The course starts with running approximately 1-1.5 miles before transitioning to the .5 mile paddle. You will exit the water and get right back on the course to finish the last 1.5-2 miles.
- The running course is the same as the 5K participant course.
- Kayaks, PFD's and paddles will be provided and you must use the boats/equipment provided (no BYOB - bring your own boat). Kayaks are sit on top.
- There will be staff at the transition area to help racers, as well as on the water to ensure safety.
- This race will take place in 4 waves of 15 and will be split up by 5K race speed. This means only 60 people can take part in this unique race in 2026! Once registration is closed we will organize participants by waves and can provide wave times.
- Participants must be 14 years old or older AND must fit into adult sized PFD's.
- All participants must be able to paddle boat alone. There will be no sharing of kayaks.
- A safety talk shortly before the race will be mandatory. It will cover safety and equipment information so your transition from land to water is quick, safe and painless. If you do not attend the meeting you will not be able to participate and will forfeit your registration or can be moved to the 5K race.
- Participants must have kayak experience and confidence they can complete a half a mile leg.
- The top 3 male and top 3 female finishers will receive awards.
- There will not be finisher medals.
