Our story…

The Markdale Hospital Foundation is proud to welcome the Matheson Family Riders to the 2026 Grey Highlands Gran Fondo. This year, the 26K route has been named the Sandy Matheson Memorial Ride in honour of Alexander “Sandy” James Matheson. Following a serious illness, Sandy received exceptional care through Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Brightshores Health System, and Markdale Hospital. The Matheson family rides and fundraises in gratitude for that care and to support local healthcare close to home.
