As a Registration Check-In volunteer at Rainbow Bridge Run 2026, your role is key to giving participants a smooth and welcoming experience. Duties include:
Welcome Participants – Greet runners, walkers, dogs and families with a friendly smile.
Verify Registrations – Check names against the registration list and confirm participation.
Distribute Materials – Hand out race bibs, swag bags, and any event information.
Answer Questions – Provide guidance on route, start times, parking, and facilities.
Direct Traffic – Help participants know where to go next (start line, restrooms, water stations).
Assist Last-Minute Registrations – Support any onsite registrations if applicable.
Keep Area Organized – Ensure registration tables are neat, supplies are stocked, and information is visible.
This role sets the tone for a positive experience — you’re the first friendly face participants see, and your energy makes a huge difference!
Road Crossing Guard
As a Road Crossing Guard, you play a critical role in keeping participants, volunteers, and pets safe. Your main responsibility is to manage intersections and ensure everyone crosses safely. Duties include:
Monitor Assigned Crossings – Stand at designated intersections along the route.
Control Traffic – Stop vehicles when participants are crossing and allow safe passage.
Guide Participants – Direct runners, walkers, and dogs safely across streets.
Communicate Clearly – Use flags to manage traffic and alert participants.
Coordinate with Other Volunteers – Ensure smooth transitions at crossings and maintain communication with event coordinators.
Assist in Emergencies – Alert first aid or event staff immediately if an incident occurs.
Stay Visible & Alert – Wear provided safety vests and stay attentive at all times.
Your vigilance ensures a fun, safe, and worry-free event for everyone!
Memorial Tent
The Memorial Tent is a special space for participants to honor and remember their beloved pets. As a volunteer, your role is to create a welcoming, compassionate environment. Duties include:
Greet Visitors – Welcome participants with warmth and kindness.
Assist with Memorial Activities – Help participants write messages and place items in memory displays.
Maintain Organization – Keep tables, supplies, and displays tidy and stocked.
Provide Guidance – Explain how the memorial activities work and answer questions.
Support Emotional Needs – Offer a listening ear or gentle support if participants are emotional.
Coordinate with Event Staff – Communicate if more supplies or assistance is needed.
Encourage Participation – Invite participants to honor their pets and celebrate their memory.
Your presence helps make the Memorial Tent a comforting, reflective, and meaningful space for everyone attending.
Hydration Station (2.5 KM turnaround point)
As a Hydration Station volunteer at Rainbow Bridge Run 2026, your role is to keep participants refreshed, energized, and safe. Duties include:
Set Up Station – Arrange water, cups, and any additional refreshments before participants arrive.
Hand Out Drinks – Offer water (and other beverages if provided) to walkers, runners, and their dogs safely and efficiently.
Encourage Participants – Cheer participants on and offer positive energy as they pass through the 2.5 KM point.
Maintain Supplies – Refill cups, water containers, and remove empty cups from the area.
Keep Area Safe – Ensure the station area is clean, organized, and free from obstacles that could cause trips or spills.
Assist with Waste Disposal – Help participants dispose of used cups in recycling/trash bins.
Report Issues – Communicate with event staff if supplies run low or if any participant needs assistance.
Your support ensures everyone stays hydrated, happy, and motivated to continue their walk or run!
Note: To access the 2.5 KM Water Station, volunteers will be required to walk to the location.

Finish Line
As a Finish Line volunteer, you are the welcoming face of celebration and accomplishment for participants completing the walk/run. Duties include:
Cheer Participants In – Greet walkers, runners, and their dogs with encouragement and excitement.
Hand Out Medals/Swag – Distribute any finish line items such as medals, ribbons, or small prizes if applicable.
Provide Water & Snacks – Offer post-race refreshments to help participants refuel.
Guide Participants – Direct them to the post-race area, Memorial Tent, or other event facilities.
Assist with Photos – Help participants capture their finish line moment if requested.
Monitor Safety – Ensure the finish area remains clear, organized, and safe for everyone.
Support Event Staff – Report any issues or participant needs to coordinators promptly.
Your energy at the finish line creates a celebratory, uplifting experience and leaves participants feeling proud and supported!
Photographers
As a Photographer volunteer, you help capture the memories, smiles, and heart of the event. Duties include:
Capture Key Moments – Take photos of participants, dogs, families, volunteers, and special activities throughout the event.
Memorial Tent Coverage – Respectfully photograph participants engaging in memorial activities, honoring pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Action Shots – Snap walkers, runners, and teams on the course, including start, turnaround, and finish line moments.
Highlight Volunteers & Community – Document volunteers in action and moments of camaraderie.
Assist Event Team – Provide photos to coordinators for social media, newsletters, or post-event recaps.
Stay Mobile & Observant – Move around the course to capture varied angles and moments, while remaining safe and unobtrusive.
Your photos help celebrate the day, honor beloved pets, and share the impact of the event with the wider community!
Post Race Snacks
As a Post-Race Snacks volunteer, you help participants refuel, relax, and celebrate after completing the walk/run. Duties include:
Set Up Snack Area – Arrange granola bars, fruit, water, and any other refreshments for easy access.
Hand Out Snacks & Drinks – Offer food and beverages to participants as they finish.
Maintain Supplies – Refill items as needed and ensure the area stays organized and clean.
Encourage & Celebrate – Cheer on finishers and create a welcoming, positive environment.
Assist with Waste Management – Direct participants to trash and recycling bins and keep the area tidy.
Coordinate with Event Staff – Communicate if supplies are running low or if assistance is needed.
Support All Abilities – Help participants with mobility challenges or children access snacks safely.

Tear Down Crew
As a Tear Down Crew volunteer, you help wrap up the event efficiently and safely, ensuring everything is packed and the park is left clean. Duties include:
Take Down Stations – Assist with dismantling registration tables, hydration stations, memorial tent, and snack areas.
Pack Supplies – Collect leftover materials, signage, tables, chairs, and equipment for storage or return.
Clean Up – Ensure trash and recycling are collected, and the area is left tidy.
Return Materials – Help transport items back to the storage or event office.
Assist Coordinators – Follow instructions from event staff to make sure all areas are properly cleared.
Check Lost & Found – Gather any items left behind and organize them for retrieval.
Support Safety – Carry or move items carefully to avoid injury and ensure pathways remain clear.

Set Up Crew

Prepare Memorial Tent – Set up tables, displays, and supplies for participants to honor their pets.

Check Supplies & Equipment – Verify all materials are available, organized, and functional.
Safety Checks – Ensure all equipment is stable, pathways are clear, and safety vests or cones are in place.
Coordinate with Event Staff – Follow directions and communicate any issues promptly.
