What is a fundraising team?
Fundraising teams are the ultimate supporters – they help make White Cane Walk successful by raising funds, asking others to get involved by joining or donating to their team and raising awareness of the event and of CSC. Team captains who raise $500 by April 27 will be listed on the event t-shirt. Click here to view a step by step guide on how to create a team.
What is a team captain?
A White Cane Walk team captain is the head of their own fundraising team for the event. As team captain, you guide your fundraising team to reach your fundraising goal by recruiting teammates and asking for donations in support of your team.

What do the proceeds of this event go toward?
Funds raised will support the blind and visually impaired community by ensuring they have the tools and training to navigate the visual world.
These tools and training include:
- Teaching a family with a baby how to adapt household items and toys to meet developmental milestones.
- Ensuring children and adults have the assistive technology they need to succeed in school and work.
- Providing low vision exams and training on many technologies and tools that allow individuals to live the lives they want with the vision they have.
- Continuing to advocate for a world where the quality of one's sight does not determine the quality of one's life.
- And so much more.
When will I receive my shirt and what color is it?
T-shirts will be available at check-in the day of the event. Reminder, due to high participation rates, t-shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed on the day of the event. Colors are a surprise!
Is this a pet friendly event?
We anticipate many service animals will attend White Cane Walk, especially guide dogs and guide dogs in training. To ensure all working dogs are productive and helping their handlers, we ask all non-service animals stay home and not attend the event.
