My Story…
I'm elated to participate in the Run to End Endo; it was thanks to TENC and a few of my online endo friends whom I met through a virtual support group that I found the courage to seek a formal diagnosis and advocate for better care back in 2021. That came after over a decade of relentless suffering. Since then, I've received a stage IV endometriosis diagnosis and have endured several surgeries, including a hysterectomy (for adenomyosis). I'm grateful to have a better quality of life now, but it wasn't a straightforward path, nor was it an easy one to navigate. I feel strongly that raising awareness, advocating for better care, and demystifying endo will forever be a part of my life's mission. Endometriosis changed every aspect of my life, so I can only hope that future generations continue to find the support, timely care, empathy, and community that I found...It's imperative, and I hope with more funding, awareness, and breakthroughs, they'll have access to it early on.
