Our story…
I’m fundraising to raise awareness for Endometriosis!
A little bit of my story: I started experiencing pain at 12 years old, with numerous symptoms & side effects. After trialing various medications & treatments, at 17 years old I was diagnosed with endometriosis via laparoscopic excision surgery. Since then, I’ve gone through temporary medically induced menopause, a number of medications & treatments, a variety of procedures & two more laparoscopic excision surgeries, with the most recent being in January of this year. I will likely continue to trial medications & have many more surgeries in my life. I share my journey through my advocacy work on Her Uterus (@her_uterus) if you’re interested in following along!
Endometriosis has no cure. It affects approximately 1 in 10 people. There is minimal research & no clear answer as to what causes endometriosis. I hope we can change this and one day find a cure!
