Be Part of Race Day
Registration and Setup: Friday, June 5
Race Day: Saturday, June 6
The Rotary Huron Shore Run has brought runners to the Lake Huron shoreline since 1988. Each year, we welcome more and more participants to the start line—and it all runs smoothly because of an incredible team of volunteers.
Volunteers are the driving force behind the event. From aid stations and course support to registration, start/finish operations, and post-race celebrations, your energy helps create a safe, organized, and memorable experience for every runner.
You’re welcome to sign up for more than one role—just ensure your selected times don’t overlap. Final shift details and assignments will be confirmed closer to race day. If you want to sign up for additional shifts after you've completed registration, please contact us.
No prior experience is required. We value enthusiasm, reliability, and flexibility as we work to staff all roles for a successful event.
Each volunteer needs to register individually. If you are signing up as part of a group, please ensure every person completes their own registration so we have an accurate count.
All volunteers receive a Rotary Huron Shore Run volunteer t-shirt.
If you would like your volunteer shift(s) to count toward your school or club volunteer hours, please bring your letter for signing to the Volunteer Check-in at the Registration Desk on Friday evening or Saturday morning during registration hours.
As a registered charitable event, all proceeds support local healthcare, youth sports, and community programs. Volunteering is a meaningful way to give back while being part of a positive, high-energy community event.
Volunteer Roles and Opportunities
Aid Station Volunteers
Keep runners fueled and moving. Hand out water, electrolyte drinks, and gels while cheering participants along the course. You’ll be on your feet and part of the energy that keeps runners strong to the finish.
Registration & Race Kit Pick-Up
Welcome participants and help them get race-ready. Assist with check-in and bib distribution. Friendly, organized, and detail-oriented is helpful.
Bag & Shoe Drop Team
Support pre-race bag check and post-race pick-up to keep the start and finish areas running smoothly. This team also helps collect gently used running shoes donated by participants for distribution to those in need.
Course Marshals
Support a safe and exciting race day. Help direct runners and spectators, monitor intersections, and keep the course flowing smoothly. You’ll be outdoors and on your feet—confidence and clear communication are key.
Set-Up & Clean-Up Crew
The behind-the-scenes heroes. Assist with tents, signage, equipment movement, and site reset before and after the event. Some lifting required—teamwork and flexibility are essential.
Post-Run Awards & Festivities Team
Help create a great finish-line experience. Assist with award preparation, refreshment support, and the organization and upkeep of the post-race zone.
