The Run for Roses 5K is a student-powered fundraiser supporting South Salem High School's HOSA chapter - a club for students interested in healthcare careers who aspire to compete at the State and National Levels. This event also celebrates the incredible collaboration of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. From graphic design, manufacturing, health services and business, South's CTE students worked together to bring this run to life.
The Rose Tradition at South Salem High School
The rose has long been a symbol of welcome and recognition at South Salem High School. Each year, our head principal continues a cherished tradition by presenting a rose to new staff members as a gesture of appreciation and belonging. This tradition extends into our weekly school-wide announcements, where "roses" are shared to recognize the achievements and positive contributions of students, programs, and staff.
Through this event, we are proud to extend our rose tradition beyond our campus and into the community. Adding to its significance, South Salem High School's CTE Manufacturing students designed and created three custom rose trophies, which will be awarded to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
