Grouse Mountain's Seek the Peak is back!
Join us on Saturday, June 13, 2026 for one of the North Shore's most iconic endurance challenges, and be a part of Grouse Mountain's Centennial Year legacy while supporting Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation. This year's race contributes to celebrating 100 years of history, and your participation helps mark a century of adventure, community, and outdoor adventure at Grouse.
The challenging 16 km course starts by the beach at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, winds its way through North Vancouver, then heads up the legendary Grouse Grind to The Peak of Vancouver. With an impressive 1,400m of elevation, Seek the Peak will test your fitness, stamina and mental grit.
Take on the challenge solo or enter as a team of 2-4, splitting up the course into four legs. Either way, reaching the top is an achievement worth celebrating! After crossing the finish line, join us at our finish line party featuring DJ, BBQ, recovery zone, plus activities and giveaways from our event sponsors.
As well as age category and fundraising awards, we'll also have special prizing for the Best Centennial Tribute, recognizing participants who creatively celebrate Grouse Mountain's 100-year milestone!

Introducing our Seek the Peak Trainer, Mariève Legrand
I'm thrilled to be back for the 2026 edition of Seek the Peak! It's been a privilege to lead the training program for this race since 2015, and I'm excited to once again be part of such an inspiring event.
Running has always played a significant role in my life - it's how I challenge my limits, clear my mind, and recharge both mentally and physically. Along the way, it has also brought countless great memories and the opportunity to build many meaningful friendships.
Through this training program, I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for running on the beautiful North Shore trails, and watching participants challenge themselves - and likely surprise themselves - along the way. I love setting goals, sharing tips, and supporting runners at every stage of the journey. I hope many of you will join us as we take on this incredible course together, from the shores of Ambleside all the way to the Peak of Grouse!

As part of Grouse Mountain's wider sustainability initiatives, we're working to reduce waste at our events, and have eliminated the use of disposable cups at all aid stations. Aid Stations will be fully stocked to keep runners fueled and hydrated, however we ask that runners carry their own refillable hydration vessel.
HydraPak SpeedCups are a great re-usable alternative to disposable cups for those who do not wish to carry a bottle or hydration vest. They are available to purchase from the Seek the Peak store at a reduced rate while stocks last.

Course Description:
Leg 1: Ambleside Beach to Capilano Pacific Trail
Racers kick off Seek the Peak at scenic Ambleside Beach, heading east before following the Capilano Pacific Trail north. Racers are directed up to Keith Road via a connector trail, after which an 800m run takes them to the end of Leg 1.
Leg 2: Capilano to the base of the Grouse Grind
Due to a closure on a portion of the Capilano Pacific Trail, the start of this section of the Seek the Peak course has been re-routed for this year’s race. After the re-routed section, racers will re-join the Capilano Pacific trail, continuing north before arriving at Capilano Dam via the Palisades Trail. From there, it’s out onto Nancy Greene Way and the one-mile climb to the base of Grouse Mountain.
Leg 3: The Grouse Grind
This stage of the race starts just below the gates of the world-famous Grouse Grind trail and follows the steep and mountainous 2,830 steps to the plateau of Grouse Mountain
Leg 4: Top of the Grouse Grind to the Peak of Vancouver
Racers cut across the 1km of grassy plateau of Grouse mountain to reach the base of the Peak, where they will ascend straight up following what is known as Heaven’s Sake ski run during the winter months. Upon reaching the peak, racers will have a moment to take in the breathtaking views of the city below, before running back down to the finish line.

Our recommendation is to park at Grouse Mountain and take the complimentary shuttle to the start line.
Complimentary shuttle: Buses will operate from Grouse Mountain to Ambleside Park and between Ambleside Park and Checkpoint 1. The majority of racers will be taking the complimentary shuttle, so we strongly recommend that you plan to arrive early to account for any shuttle waits due to capacity.
Grouse Mountain: Regular parking rates apply
Ambleside: There is limited pay parking available at Ambleside Beach. Please note that there is no shuttle back to Ambleside from Grouse Mountain after the race. Racers are responsible for getting back to the start if they have parked there.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE: There will be no parking permitted north of Klee Wyck Park on Keith Road (200m from Checkpoint #1). Parking in the Checkpoint 1 area is not recommended due to very limited space. Any cars must park 200 metres away and walk in to Checkpoint 1.
