SwimMAC Carolina is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers swimming programs for people of all ages and experience levels. Established as the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club in 1977, we’ve grown from a small competitive team into the #1 ranked swim team within USA Swimming, providing aquatic instruction and training for nearly 10,000 people in the Charlotte region each year.

SwimMAC Swim School is part of the lesson provider network of the USA Swimming Foundation, the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming committed to Saving Lives, Building Champions, and Impacting Communities.
Swimming is the only sport that can save a life and our swim school teaches more than 15,000 swim lessons each year to beginners in the Charlotte community!

A few facts about learning to swim:
- Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in the United States for children aged 1-4 and the second leading cause for children under the age of 14.
- One month of formal swimming lessons reduces the risk of drowning in children by 88%. You can support our efforts to provide the life-saving skill of swimming to persons of all ages!
- More than a third of adults in the U.S. can’t swim the length of a pool. If a parent does not know how to swim, there is only a 19% chance that a child in their household will learn to swim.
SwimMAC Carolina relies on membership revenue, sponsorships and charitable giving in order to provide quality coaching and instruction, maintain our excellent teaching and training locations, fund financial aid programs and staff education, and explore new ways to connect with our community.
Please consider including a small donation with your registration and supporting the nearly 50 full-time employees and 120 part-time employees and volunteers as we all work towards accomplishing SwimMAC’s Mission: Empowering young people to be champions in life, through excellence in swimming.
