5K Course Details
START TIME: 7:30am
The 5K Run/Walk is a timed out-and-back route on the Ecusta Trail, beginning and ending at the Hendersonville Welcome Center. This route highlights the completed Hendersonville section of the Ecusta Trail, a former railroad corridor thoughtfully transformed into a wide, paved shared-use greenway.
Designed to be welcoming for both runners and walkers, the 5K offers an accessible way to experience the trail while still delivering a true race-day atmosphere. The out-and-back format provides a clear, easy-to-follow course that showcases the trail’s smooth surface, gentle grades, and scenic corridor.
The 5k turnaround for walkers/joggers will be clearly marked at Southern Streams CoffeeHouse.
1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Course Details
START TIME: 7:35am
The One Mile Fun Run/Walk is an untimed out-and-back route on the Ecusta Trail, beginning and ending at the Hendersonville Welcome Center. This short course also highlights the completed Hendersonville section of the Ecusta Trail.
Designed for families, walkers, youth participants, and first-time racers, the one mile route offers an easy and welcoming way to experience race day on the Ecusta Trail. With a smooth surface and gentle grades, this course encourages participants of all ages to move at their own pace and enjoy the trail together.
The 1 mile turnaround will be clearly marked between Kanuga and Spring Street.
Water Station
There will be one water station on the course located at Southern Streams at Mile 1.5. It will include portajons and free refreshments (water, Gatorade and snacks.)
DOG FRIENDLY? The Railway Races are dog-friendly. Dogs are permitted but must be on a short leash at all times. Participants are responsible for their pets and must yield to other trail users.
PLEASE NOTE: The course cutoff will be 9:00am.
