Wave Descriptions
Competitive wave: Are you looking to PR? Been training? Want to win an age-group award? This wave is for you! We'll start bright and early at 7:45 am at Centennial Park on this scenic, flat, 5K course.
Walk/Jog + YETI Wave: Are you looking for a slower, non-competitive pace? Want to run / walk with a YETI student runner? Join this wave at 8:45 am. We'll have a mass start after the competitive wave at Centennial Park (and don't worry, your times are still chip-timed).
Enjoy your own pace, but please know that the aid stations and finish line will be packed up at 9:45.
Age Groups & Awards
Awards will be given for 1st - 3rd in each male and female age group for the competitive 5K. The award ceremony for the competitive wave will be at approximately 9:15 am.
Awards for the YETI wave will be given to each age (5-18 years of age), 1st - 3rd. The award ceremony will be at approximately 9:45.
Competitive Wave: 3-7, 8-10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over
Non-Competitive Wave: 5-18
Bib Numbers
Bibs must be worn on the front of your body and on the outside of your clothing when you cross the start / finish line. Please be sure that you have your bib and not a family member's. Please note that anyone with a bib MUST complete the race of their own volition (with the exception of our mobility impaired participants). Children pushed in strollers may NOT win an age-group award. Please leave the timing chip on the back of the bib number attached until directed to remove it by volunteers.
Aid Stations
Our on-course aid stations will have water, Gatorade and snacks at the Sells Avenue trailhead, which runners pass at about the 1 mile and 2 mile points.
Parking
Please plan to carpool! Parking on Blossom weekend is tight, and we appreciate your help. There are bike racks at the park and if you are able to ride the to the park - that's wonderful! There is some parking on the north side of Centennial Park (on the north side of the river) and at Veterans Park - 211 S. 3rd Street - and you can cross the pedestrian bridge. You can also park at Lincoln Elementary School, 420 Myrtle Avenue.
Spectators
If you have spectators who'd like to see you run, this is a great course to cheer on participants. They can see you take off and finish at Centennial Park, and can also see you pass by two additional times if they travel to the Sell's Avenue Trailhead of the Riverwalk. Simply head south on 9th St. (over the bridge) and turn L (east) on Sells Avenue. Park at the parking lot at the end of the dead-end road.
Dog Policy
We have over 800 runners at this event, and over half are young children. We LOVE dogs, but please keep them at home for this event. We do our best to keep our participants safe and comfortable, and your cooperation is appreciated. (We enthusiastically welcome trained support animals who assist those who need them!)
