At the Four Spoke ride at the Success Community Center on August 22nd, we'll have a table set up for folks to set out pictures or other things to remember Harold McDonald by, who recently passed away. I know many of us knew him and are very thankful he was part of the club. You don't need to be registered to ride in Four Spoke to come out, bring a picture, and remember him. This year's Four Spoke will be in his memory. The club will send the pictures we get of Harold to his wife. Mrs. Susan said "I would love to have pictures of Harold and his bicycle buddies. He so loved riding with the group!" Please come out and bring a photo, even if you aren't riding.
The post ride meal will be pastalaya and sides provided by the Gulf Coast Brotherhood Foundation which is a 501c3 charity cycling organization. They are doing this as a fund raiser, I encourage you to go to their web site and read up on them. They will also be raffling off a basket worth over $140 that includes: False River Dark Rum, False River Spiced Rum, Copa Cocktails Mojito Mix, Blue Chair Bay Mango Rum Cream, Two whimsical mason jar drinking glasses, Bonus Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey shots—just for a little extra fun! Note: Must be 21 or over to win, and cannot be opened on site as there is a no alcohol policy at the community center.
There will be the option to do 25 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles, or the full 100 miles. It just depends on how many "spokes" aka out and backs you want to ride!
Friendly reminder: you have to be a RWGPS club member- which is free to do- to be able to see and save the confirmed routes! Please click this link and you will automatically be added:

In the RWGPS event link below there are multiple options for you to download the spokes, as separate routes for your bike computer or phone. With the overlap between spokes, especially if doing the 100, it might be easier to view the route in a Garmin if you load each spoke separately (Garmin lets you load a new course without restarting your ride). However, we will have plenty of signage and road markings. Route files available are:
- All 4 spokes (100 miles)
- Spokes 1 & 2
- Spokes 3 & 4
- Each spoke separately

Online registration will remain open until 7am on ride day/approximately 30 minutes prior to the start time. It's important to note that same day registration will only be available in a paperless fashion on Race Roster. Once registration is verified, you'll get your t-shirt (if registered before 8/10), SAG & event phone numbers, and be ready to roll!
Police traffic control and road markings/signage will both be present but limited, so all participants should download routes to their computers, plan to play the route from their RWGPS app on their phone, or carry printed turn-by-turn directions with them. For instructions on how to download routes to your Garmin, Wahoo, or other computer, see the Ride With GPS Help page at https://support.ridewithgps.com/hc/en-us/articles/4419007646235-Export-File-Formats and your computer’s documentation.
****Important safety notice - all cyclists must wear a helmet and have a red tail light. The GCBC Board strongly recommends all riders have a white front light in accordance with Mississippi laws in case of inclement weather. As we all know, the weather can impede visibility. Bike lights help ensure you can be seen by motorists and other cyclists. Safety first when riding on open roads.****
We will have the one rest stop at Success Community Center where we start and finish which we'll all be coming back to up to 3 times if you're doing the full 100 miler! Much easier to manage on this one! No worries as the rest stop will be fully stocked with food, drinks and of course, cold towels.
**All rides are weather permitting, and at your own risk and liability.**
