From May 15-July 15, millions of people in more than 160 countries will celebrate Olympic Day commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games (June 23, 1894). Rollerblade® 10K Challenge
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- No refunds.
- If you are unable to attend the race, you may transfer your registration to another skater prior to June 19th.
- Online registration closes on Friday, June 19 at 12:00 PM.
- On-site registration is available with the Half Marathon fee = $70.
VIRTUAL HALF MARATHON (6/12/26 - 6/19/26)Go the distance while keeping your distance with the Skate of the Union® Virtual Option.
If you would like to participate in this event and would prefer to skate on your own, you may still compete with our virtual option. Skate the 13.1 course on the Indian Head Rail Trail between June 12 and June 19. When done, to be included in the race results, email the following 3 photos before 11:59PM on June 19 to info@skateoftheunion.org:
1. You at the the turn around point at the wooden bridge after the Pomfret Road intersection. You do not need to cross the bridge.
2. You under the arch when you have finished
3. A screen shot of your finishing time.
IN-PERSON OPTIONS (6/21/26)
DIRECTIONS
The Marathon will start at the White Plains end of the Indian Head Trail. Please use the following address for parking: 4545 Crain Hwy, White Plains, MD 20695. It is a short skate to the head of the trail.
CHECK-IN
Check-in will begin at 8:00am in the parking lot. When you arrive, please be sure to visit the check-in table to receive your event number. Please note that your event number is to be pinned to the outside of your left thigh.
SCHEDULE
• 8:00 - 8:45am: Check-In
• 9:00am: Race Start
• 11:30am: Awards for the Half Marathon will be distributed in the parking lot.
ADDITIONAL INFO
• All skaters must complete their in-person distances before 2 hours.
• You must be comfortable coming to a complete stop as there are intersections to cross that will not be blocked:
o Rollerblade® 10K Challenge: Middletown Road
o Half Marathon: Middletown Road, Bensville Road & Pomfret Road
• You are on the honor system to cross the half-way point for your race:
o Rollerblade® 10K Challenge: At the wooden bench after the Middletown Road intersection.
o Half Marathon: At the wooden bridge after the Pomfret Road intersection. You do not need to cross the bridge.
• All participants in the half marathon must be at least 14 years of age.
• Kids under 14 may participate in the Rollerblade® 10K Challenge, at the discretion of the parent/guardian. Due to the course not being closed, we recommend a parent/guardian/teammate accompany any younger skater.
• Cross-gender drafting is permitted.
• All skaters are requested to skate in the right side of the trail to allow for incident free passing by cyclists.
