When and where do I pick up my race packet & bib?
Packet pickup will take place Friday evening, March 12th between (6pm -9pm) at the outdoor patio of the Holy Whale Beer Hall & Garden . Race-day pickup will be available at the Gazebo between (7:30-8:30am), for those unable to attend early pickup.
Is there parking available at the event?
Yes, parking options are available near the start/finish area. However we recommend arriving early as there will be no reserved parking. All parking is open to the general public.
Will the event be timed? No. This is a backyard ultra which means each participant must be in the starting coral ready to go on the hour, every hour, or you will be eliminated - DNF
Is the course easy to navigate? Yes. The entirety of the course is part of the TCT and Riverfront Park Trail. There are no roads to cross or intersections to navigate. *However, its important to note that the course is a "shared trail" so there will be others using the trail. Thus, caution is required.
What sort of amities are available? Near the start/finish there will be a fill station and port-a-potties. There is an open shelter (gazebo) which is also the location of race headquarters. There will be some room in the gazebo for participants chairs. There is very limited space for canopies, so some runners may wish to utilize their vehicle, and or stage their recovery area/chair near the gazebo.
There are many business near the start/finish area, which runners & support crews can utilize to gather needed supplies and food. While friends and family can observe the race from the board walk & or the Holy Whale Beer Hall & Garden , which is only meters away from the starting corral and will be our event headquarters.
Is there accommodation close by? Yes. Although there are no hotels on the Riverview side, the city of Moncton has many verities of accommodation to choose from. *Please note - there is no camping permitted on site or town land. Participants are welcome to utilize the gazebo for as long as the event continues.
Will there be awards for participants? Yes. Each participant will receive a participation medal, a T-shirt, and wrist band with distance club distinction 5+, 25+, 50+ etc. There will also be additional items on hand that participants can utilize to document their laps/yards.
Will there be a First Aid Station / Security? Yes. There will be a first aid station at the start/finish area. There will be course volunteers available to help participants, but we will not be responsible for your valuables. It's recommended that you leave all valuables in your locked vehicle and out of sight, or with your support crew.
Can I participate with my dog at this event? No. Although we are dog lovers, only human power is permitted on course.
Will I require a headlight? Yes. Any participants still running after sunset will require a headlight. Although some of the course is lighted (both bridges and some of the Riverview side), the Moncton side is not. There will be power bars located in and around the start/finish area for those needing to charge their tech.
Can my child participate in this event? No. Only people 18 and older on race day will be eligible to participate in this event. Those younger than 18 are welcome to observe and cheer on participants with the hope that they will one day be the ultra runners of the future.
Who can participate in this event? Anyone and Everyone. If you can run 6.7km in under an hour, and you make it back to the starting coral before the hour, you get to do it again, and again, and again, until you can't. Its easy, until its not!
