8th ANNUAL HONOR FLOAT

Saturday, July 11th
Registration Starts at 9am - Veteran’s Memorial Park, Central City, IA.
Honor Float is daylong event starting with a kayak trip from the Veteran’s Memorial Park Central City, to F.B. & Company Bar in Waubeek. All proceeds support, Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, a non-profit organization providing air travel from Cedar Rapids, IA to Washington DC to our wartime Veterans to tour the National Memorials built in their honor.
The second half of the day’s festivities continue at Veteran’s Memorial Park, open to everyone. Other events include live music, provide by Full Circle, food vendors, other treats and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Golf cart rides from the park to AMVets Post 37 will be available so other beverages can be purchased and brought back to the park. Door prizes will be awarded and there will be ticket available for the raffle.
Apparel Orders:
Must be completed by June 15th if you want your items the day of the event.
$30 Pre-Registration:
Pre-registration end on July 1st. Pre-registration includes a swag-bag with snacks, free-drink wristbands, door prize entries, and other goodies. Register online here or in person at the AmVets in Central City.
Parking:
Kayakers can drop-off their kayaks and/or pick up rented kayaks at the Veteran's Memorial Park. Park is for drop-off only. Once kayaks are in the park, participants have 2 options for parking:
Option 1 - Parking in Central City:
Park in the designated areas outside of Veteran’s Memorial Park, signs will be up.
Afternoon shuttle runs begin at 1pm and the last run will be 5:00pm
Kayaks shuttle will bring kayaks back to the park as the trailers fill up. Your kayak may not return at the same time as your shuttle bus but it will come to the park.
Option 2 - Parking at the exit site:
In the morning, after dropping off the kayak at Veteran’s Memorial Park, participants can drive to FB & Company in Waubeek. Morning Shuttle will be available starting at 8am and end at 9:30am.
