Run The Maine returns for its 18th edition and features our unique point-to-point Half Marathon (taking a steam train out to the start line), a challenging 10 km Run, through beautiful woodlands and bushlands and a 5 km Run / Walk that takes in Castlemaine’s stunning botanical gardens.

Event information

Half Marathon - MALDON TO CASTLEMAINE: An exciting half marathon through some of Central Victoria’s finest countryside. From dense woodland to open paddocks, following the historic Goldfields Steam Train route on well-made fire trails and paths.
10km - WALMER FOREST LOOP: A challenging 10 km run that follows two creeks at either end of its course. A steady climb out of Castlemaine up in the pretty Walmer Forest before looping back and joining the 21km route into town.
5km - BOTANICAL GARDENS RETURN: A fast, almost flat 5 km out-and-back run in Castlemaine’s historic botanical gardens. Suitable for all running abilities.
