2026 UniversalCare Strides for Seniors

Please join us on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at North Maple Regional Park for the 7th annual UniversalCare Strides for Seniors Walk/Run!

This family-friendly event at North Maple Regional Park featuring 5km and 2.5km routes, food vendors, live entertainment, and fun for all ages — creating a day that was much more than just a run in the park. From scenic routes to community spirit, the event was a joyful celebration of care, compassion, and connection.

Last year, Strides for Seniors achieved a remarkable milestone, over 700 participants raising $2,017,000 NET through the generosity of legacy, corporate, and community donors. This year, our goal is $400,000 that will directly support the maintenance of CIBPA PLACE — York Region’s first Non-Profit Residential Respite Dementia Care Centre.

CIBPA PLACE operated by CHATS (Community & Home Assistance to Seniors) offers individuals living with dementia and related diseases the opportunity to be cared for in a safe, residential setting for short periods of time. The centre will provide vital support and respite for caregivers, offering relief and renewal while ensuring their loved ones receive high-quality, compassionate care.

In just five years, UniversalCare Strides for Seniors has raised an outstanding $5.6 million NET in support of senior-centric programs across York, Toronto, and Peel Region.

UniversalCare Strides for Seniors Event Timeline:

• 8:00 am – 9:00 am: Registration and Race Kit Pick Up
• 8:45 am: Opening Ceremonies
• 9:20 am: Warm up
• 9:30 am: Run begins
• 9:40 am: Walk begins
• 10:40 am: Awards, Cheque Presentation, Closing Ceremony
• 11:30 am: Event Ends

Race Kit Pick-Up

You have two convenient options for picking up your race kit (swag bags, bibs, etc.), and you are welcome to choose whichever works best for you — there’s no need to let us know in advance.

1. Advance Pick-Up

2. Event Day Pick-Up

Parking Information

• Free parking is available at North Maple Regional Park.
• Please note: due to ongoing construction, parking is limited. We strongly encourage carpooling where possible.
• An overflow lot at the most southern entrance of Vaughan Cares Road will also be available, but please plan ahead and allow extra time for arrival.

All health and safety protocols will be followed at the time of the event. Registered participants will be provided detailed information regarding any changes to the event plan based on the rules and regulations on event day.
