The Run for Big Things 5K is a community run/walk supporting Big Things Boxing Academy, a volunteer-powered nonprofit providing free after-school fitness classes and mentorship to youth in Falls Church, Virginia.
In just six years, Big Things Boxing has impacted more than 200 local youth — building not just strong athletes, but confident, resilient young leaders. The program runs entirely on volunteers and donations, and the funds raised from this 5K will help with equipment, competitions, and year-round mentorship that keeps our kids moving forward.
Running is already part of our athletes’ daily routine — now it’s your turn to lace up and join them. Every mile, every cheer, every step helps us continue doing big things for our kids and creating opportunities that last far beyond the finish line.
Registration includes t-shirt, chip-timing, and post-race celebration with snacks and refreshments. Race day timing by Bishop's Events.

Race Day Shirt
All participants receive a commemorative shirt. (Must register by April 30 to guarantee a shirt.)
Timed Race
The race will be timed in partnership with Bishops Events.
Post-Race Celebration
Stay afterward for snacks and refreshments at the finish line.
Awards
Awards will be given to top overall runners as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place runners for varying age groups. Juniors (12 and under), Teens (13-17), Adults (18-54), and Masters (55 and older).
Run/Walk Friendly
The race is open to experienced runners, walkers, strollers, and this is a dog friendly course. All are welcome!
