Raise money for The ALS Society of Windsor/Essex Chatham/Kent

The A.L.S. Society of (Windsor) Essex County is a standalone volunteer led organization that has been in existence since April 1984, incorporating with tax status in 2000 and serving Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent Counties. The organization helps to provide support to persons with ALS through home visits and  helping to provide mobility, communication and other equipment through an extensive loan cupboard and, or through purchase or leasing.

 All funds raised – remain in this area to help provide equipment and also support research under the direction of Dr. Michael Strong in London.

 

 

 It is stated that it costs an average of  $50,000.00 in needed equipment for an A.L.S. patient.  This does not include home or vehicle modifications which the A.L.S. society does not fund.  

Mobility equipment – canes, walkers, wheelchairs

Communication – we provide funds for the lease of augmentative communication equipment that is prescribed

Nutrition – we have feeding pumps and Iv poles available

Respiratory – suction machines

Bathroom aids – including bath benches, raised toilet seats, commodes and shower commodes

Hospital beds 

We also provide funding for  ramps.
