Joy in Action - United in Purpose

The Joy in Action-united in purpose is a run, walk, and cycle event where you can take part while supporting a partner charity or cause you care about.

When you register, you’ll join a partner team and either participate in one of our Main Events or in one of our our Virtual Events. Whether you’re running, walking, or cycling, it’s a chance to show up, move, and be part of something meaningful alongside others in your community.

The Main Events are designed to be positive, encouraging, and easy to take part in. Participate at any one of our Steinbach, Brandon or Selkirk events. You can go at your own pace, take it seriously or just come out to be part of it, and enjoy the atmosphere along the route, including optional interactive Joy Stations.

If you’re not able to attend in person, you can still be part of the challenge by joining the Virtual Joy in Action Challenge and completing your run, walk, or cycle in your own community. It’s a flexible way to take part, stay connected to the event, and contribute to something bigger wherever you are.

If you choose to fundraise, your efforts will support your team’s cause. A substantial portion of the funds raised by each partner charity team will be allocated to that organization following the event, with the remaining funds supporting the work of the Joy Smith Foundation in preventing human trafficking through education and awareness across Canada.

Movement levels represent personal dedication, but fundraising impact determines leaderboard rankings and prize eligibility. This is more than a fitness challenge, it is a fundraising movement powered by action. Fundraising leaders will be announced October1st!

All donations are processed by the Joy Smith Foundation, and official tax receipts are issued by the Foundation in accordance with CRA guideline

Please note: Participating charities and organizations in the Joy in Action Charities United challenge are independent organizations and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or formally connected to one another unless otherwise stated. Each participating charity is responsible for its own mission, activities, and communications.
