The oldest road race in western South Dakota, the Rodeo Run originated in 1978 as a last minute plan to fill the void when the carnival couldn't make it to town for the annual Black Hills Roundup festivities in Belle Fourche. Originally a 10K race, the Rodeo Run now offers both 5K and 10K distances with proceeds from the race being donated to youth sports and activities in Belle Fourche and the surrounding area.
As is tradition, the Belle Fourche Rodeo Run 5K and 10K takes place on July 4 during the Black Hills Roundup.
This year, local law enforcement officers are joining the race – some in full duty kit! Broncs, buckles, and badges. Come run with the law.
Join us for the Belle Fourche Rodeo Run 5K/10K on Saturday, July 4th, at 7:00 AM.
The race will start at Herrmann Park (external website to https://www.bellefourche.org/herrmann-park ) in Belle Fourche, and wind through the town known as The Center of the Nation.
Registration closes at 6 P.M. July 3, 2026
